Who serves on Council?
The College Council is the governing body of the Ontario College of Teachers. College members elect 23 of the 37 Council members.
Elected members serve three-year terms and are elected from the English, French, Catholic, public, elementary and secondary school systems in all regions of the province.
Principals and vice-principals, supervisory officers, private schools and faculties of education also elect Council members.
The remaining 14 members of Council are appointed by the provincial government and are chosen from parents, members of various professions and the general public.
