Election call
Notice is hereby given that an election will be held from Monday, March 5 to Tuesday, April 10, 2012 to elect 23 representatives to the College Council, in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 293/00 made under the Ontario College of Teachers Act.
This web site focuses on generating as many candidates in the election as possible. You will find on the following pages directions and detailed information on how to nominate a member of the College or put your own name forward as a candidate.
If you are a member of the College in good standing as of 5 pm on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, you will be eligible to vote electronically via a ballot in the Members’ Area of the College web site. You’ll be presented with all positions for which you are eligible to vote – with your own region first.
The list of qualified candidates will be posted on the College's web site on January 11, 2012. The voter forum and candidate blogs will be available February 1. The March 2012 issue of Professionally Speaking will include voting information and detailed biographical information for each candidate.
This candidate and voting information will also be available on the College web site for College members’ reference.
I encourage all College members to consider nominating someone or running as a candidate and to vote in the election of members of the teaching profession to the College’s sixth Council.
